For 15% discount with Brittany Ferries either email or telephone for details We have cycles which our guests can hire, the route to Mont St. Michel takes you along quiet farmers roads, which are very flat, it is a leisurly 40 minute cycle ride to Mont St Michel. Situated just 30 minutes drive from the ferry port of St.Malo and 15 minutes from the World Heritage Site of Mont St Michel, our B & B accommodation is ideally located for weekend breaks or a longer vacation. As well as the historic walled city of Saint Malo, within 30 minutes drive there are the beautiful medieval towns of Dinan and Dol De Bretagne, the ancient capital of Brittany. Across the unique "Barrage de la Rance" is the holiday resort of Dinard, very British in style with its Edwardian architecture. Visit the fairytale château at Combourg or, for the children, the zoo and château at nearby La Bourbonsais or the Cobac Water-park. Along the coast is the small port of Cancale, famous for its oysters, which are harvested in the bay, along with the famous mussels or "moules de bouchots" ![]() Beaches and Mont Saint MichelThe coast offers something for everybody with huge beaches and rocky areas. The nearest beach is only 5 minutes drive in the village of Cherrueix, which is renowned for its sand yachting. There are organised walks in the Bay of Mont St. Michel from various points in the bay. NB. If you wish to walk in the bay you should only do so on the organised tours. The bay has the second fastest tide in the world; it comes in at the speed of a galloping horse! There are various other walks, starting from local villages, most of which give the opportunity for panoramic views across the bay.Also we provide a shuttle service for guests arriving without a vehicle,picking up from, Pontorson, and Dol De Bretagne MarketsAll the local towns have regular markets that are well worth a visit and all selling fresh local produce.The local speciality is fish, with shellfish such as oysters and mussels in particular. There are markets most days of the week, so you are bound to be here for one. ![]() Eating outEating out is a real treat with a fantastic array of restaurants. If fish is your fancy, then you really will be spoilt for choice, with Fruits de Mer (Fruits of the sea), a huge plate of shellfish, served in most restaurants. The local mussels are served in season, when they are at their best, from July to September.If you have room after all that, there are the traditional savoury and sweet pancakes (galettes and crêpes) of the region. The local Normandy and Brittany cider is available to sample at farms along the way, along with apple juice, for those in the driving seat! Golf and AntiquesIf you enjoy golf then we have one of the best courses for miles at Les Ormes, only 20 minutes drive and a Links course at Dinard. For those interested in antiques we have a list of the best Brocantes in the area.![]() This is just a small selection of what the local area has to offer but with easy access to motorways heading in all directions, access to all parts of Brittany and Western Normandy.
